Missy & Gary (Kelowna Part 2)
I met Gary and Missy for the first time on Monday and, I have to admit, they were both so different than I thought. Obviously I knew who Gary Fong was, but I had never seen him outside the context of WPPI. He definitely has a larger than life personality with a laugh that infects everyone around him. Missy is certainly his calming influence - she is so adorable and has the sweetest smile. But the best thing of all is how deeply these two care about each other. At the end of the day, nothing is more important than the truth of the love they share.
The setting for the ceremony could not have been more beautiful:

Every detail was stunning for it's simplicity. The shoes:
And the beautiful dress:
The day was full of moments that really epitomized the connection Gary & Missy share, not only with each other but with their friends and family as well. Here Jessica Strickland is reading over the letter Missy wrote Gary. Jess read it during the ceremony and there wasn't a dry eye in the place.
The guest list read like a who's who of the top wedding professionals in the US. Here Denis Reggie, the best man, and Joe Buissink, the officiate, were chatting about the ceremony.

Here are some of the gorgeous girls, who also happen to be photographers: Lauren Chapman, Janey, Amy Nave and Jessica Strickland.
What happens when you invite dozens of photographers to a wedding? There is a whole lot of chimping going on!
Here are Missy & Gary during the cocktail hour:
You'll see this little one again in a bit, but during the cocktail hour, they couldn't tear her away from her reflection. So cute!
The amazing Bob & Dawn Davis - I just adore them!
Nathan Holritz's wife Amber wasn't able to come to the wedding, so she virtually attended the wedding via iChat (Macs are the best!). Everyone got a chance to say hi to her and she was able to watch the ceremony from home.
The bridal party was full of photographers and friends. Some names you might recognize are David Jay, Jess Strickland, Denis Reggie, Amy Nave and Janey. And, of course, Joe Buissink is the man in black.
A few stolen moments by the pool:
After an early dinner, Missy changed into her wedding gown to get ready for the ceremony. Both Gary & Missy were desperately hoping the sun would come out, and it did, just in time for the ceremony. The result was some incredibly dramatic lighting where MIssy was getting dressed. She is truly a stunning bride.
As I already mentioned, Gary is a pretty expressive guy. Just take a look at his reaction as the kids were walking down the aisle. (Well, not so much walking as standing in the middle of the aisle without moving.)
The fact that he wears his heart of his sleeve, is what makes Gary so unique. His expression when he saw Missy come down the aisle with her dad was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

And, in turn, his reaction led to this:
and this:
And here she is:

So cute!
A few moments:

There was time for a few quick portraits before the speeches began. While Jess was working the backlight, I took advantage of another angle. I just love Missy's eyes in this image.
The band that Gary & Missy had flown in from LA was absolutely amazing! Here is the first dance:
While the guests were enjoying the band, Gary & Missy stole away for a moment alone.
There were so many fantastic moments during the reception that I could probably add another dozen images. But I want to close with this:
